Havelock Wool PRO R21 Batt Insulation insulation - 24" OC

I was getting mold and moisture from a leaking roof I replace a couple years ago, but the mold and moisture kept coming back. I heard wool absorbed moisture better than fiberglass insulation so I replaced all the fiberglass insulation with wool and put some rigid reflective insulation attached to the inside of the roof (the OSB). no more mold or moisture. Of coarse this could have been the result of the reflective rigid insulation, but I love the wool. It was firm and held its shape and didn't fall apart like fiberglass and doesn't itch your throat and skin. Well worth the switch from fiberglass.

It is such a a joy to put a natural fiber insulation in my walls. The insulation was easy to use and is doing its job. The room is quieter and snugger.

I liked the batts stayed in place without staples or straps. Did have to cut the batts to 22” x 36 (with strong scissors ) but used the cutoffs to fill spaces around windows and door.

Once I put in straps just slid it in - can tell it is helping the temperature already - metal roof! Did have to cut an inch and half inch off the width to avoid bulging. Hope the moths don’t like it like they do with my yarn and other wool.

We are very happy with our wool insulation. Our lower level is warm and cozy now. We appreciate all of the benefits wool has to offer and now it is helping us create a more healthy home!
